'Kuberaa' BO Collection Day 6: Dhanush's Film Inches Towards ₹70 Crore Amid Competition From Aamir Khan’s 'Sitaare Zameen Par'

Dhanush’s pan-India crime drama 'Kuberaa', directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, has earned almost ₹70 crore in six days

New Delhi: Dhanush’s latest crime drama 'Kuberaa', which hit theatres on June 20, continues its successful theatrical run with strong weekday collections. Despite stiff competition from other big releases, the film has held its ground impressively and is now closing in on the coveted ₹70 crore mark at the domestic box office.

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, 'Kuberaa' features an ensemble cast that includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, Sunaina, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. The film explores the dark underbelly of power and wealth, delving into themes of greed, morality, and ambition through the transformation of its lead character, played by Dhanush.

'Kuberaa' Box Office Collection Day 6

According to trade portal Sacnilk, the film garnered ₹4 crore on its sixth day, taking the total net collection in India to ₹65.25 crore. With consistent earnings and positive word-of-mouth, the film is expected to surpass the ₹70 crore milestone in the coming days. On Wednesday, 'Kuberaa' registered 22.52% occupancy in Telugu regions, 13.65% in Tamil, and 8.82% in Hindi-speaking belts, reflecting a pan-India appeal.

The film had a steady performance throughout the day with occupancy rates improving with each show: 15.09% in the morning, 23% in the afternoon, 24.30% in the evening, and peaking at 27.67% during night shows.

Produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, 'Kuberaa' was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Agoram Panneerselvam penned the Tamil dialogues, while the production team ensured the film retained its rooted essence across languages.

To celebrate the film’s success, the makers recently hosted a grand event attended by the cast and crew. Superstar Chiranjeevi graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Despite the ongoing competition with Aamir Khan’s 'Sitaare Zameen Par' in the northern belt, 'Kuberaa' has stayed resilient. Made on a budget of ₹120 crore, the film still has some distance to cover before turning a profit, but its current momentum suggests a promising trajectory.
