Kerala Film Critics Awards 2024: The 48th Kerala Film Critics Awards turned out to be a major celebration of Malayalam cinema, with Tovino Thomas, Nazriya Nazim, and Rima Kallingal emerging as top acting honours for their stellar performances. Meanwhile, director Fasil Muhammed’s debut feature 'Feminichi Fathima' bagged the prestigious Best Film award.
Best Actor, Actress and Film
Tovino Thomas received the Best Actor trophy for his powerful roles in Ajayante Randam Moshanam (ARM) and Anweshippin Kandethum. The Best Actress title was jointly awarded to Nazriya Nazim for Sookshmadarshini and Rima Kallingal for Theatre – The Myth of Reality.
'Feminichi Fathima', which stars Shamla Hamza, Kumar Sunil, Viji Viswanath, Pushpa, Praseedha, and Raji Menon, had already gained acclaim at the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala earlier this year. The film has now added another feather to its cap with this Critics’ Award win.
Indu Lakshmi was named Best Director for her film 'Appuram', which featured Anagha Maya Ravi, Jagadish, and Mini IG in lead roles. The film stood out among the 80 submissions that were in the race this year.
Veteran actor-writer Jagadish was honoured with the Ruby Jubilee Award for his invaluable contribution to Malayalam cinema. Other celebrated names like Seema, Babu Antony, Vipin Mohan, Jubilee Joy Thomas, and action choreographer Thyagarajan were given the Chalachitra Prathibha Awards for their enduring impact on the industry.
