While the makers have carefully avoided giving away any major plot points and Lokesh himself has remained silent during interviews, international platforms like Letterboxd and Fandango have now listed intriguing synopses that hint at what to expect from the much-hyped action drama.

According to Letterboxd, Rajinikanth plays Deva, an aging gold smuggler who sets out to rebuild his old criminal empire using stolen technology hidden in vintage golden watches. The synopsis reads:

Fandango offers further insight, framing Deva’s journey as one deeply rooted in vengeance. The platform’s description states,

What we know about Coolie
Coolie is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth and follows the director’s last hit, Leo starring Vijay. While many of Lokesh’s films so far, like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo, have been part of his shared Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), Coolie will stand alone, separate from the LCU timeline.
Despite being a solo outing, 'Coolie' boasts a massive ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir. Music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding to the excitement around the project.
