Anurag Kashyap is all set to embrace a power-packed role as a fearless cop in the upcoming action thriller 'Dacoit.' The makers officially announced the project on Friday, sharing that the film will be a bilingual venture shot in both Hindi and Telugu. The film boasts an impressive star cast, with Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur leading the charge.
Kashyap, who has been making notable appearances in South Indian films such as 'Maharaja,' 'Rifle Club,' 'Leo,' and 'Viduthalai Part 2,' is stepping into the shoes of Swamy, a no-nonsense inspector who is deeply devoted to Lord Ayyappa and has zero tolerance for corruption.

Expressing his excitement about the role, Kashyap shared in a statement, “The conundrums of duty versus dharma, and to go about doing his job with a dry sense of humor is fantastic. I am truly looking forward to playing this character in two languages, shooting in Hindi, as well as in Telugu. To get the same impact in both languages is the challenging part, something I am thoroughly enjoying.”
About Dacoit
'Dacoit' marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, who has co-written the screenplay alongside Adivi Sesh. The film revolves around a convicted criminal who embarks on a path of revenge against his former lover after she betrays him. With its gripping premise and a stellar cast, the film is already generating significant buzz among movie enthusiasts.
The project is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. Currently, filming is underway in Hyderabad, followed by an extensive schedule in Maharashtra.
