The second week of July brings an exciting lineup of films to the big screen, with Bollywood audiences especially in for a treat. The major face-off this week is between Vikrant Massey’s romantic drama 'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan' and Rajkummar Rao’s gritty action-thriller 'Maalik', both set for a July 11 release. But that’s just the beginning, there's a full platter of multilingual films across genres heading to theatres this week.

Freedom

Hitting theatres on July 10, this Tamil-language action drama is inspired by a real-life prison break in 1990s Tamil Nadu. Directed by Sathyasiva, the film stars M. Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose and promises a gripping retelling of courage and chaos behind bars.

Superman

Hollywood’s most iconic superhero returns in James Gunn’s highly anticipated reboot. With David Corenswet donning the cape and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Superman dives into the hero's internal struggle to balance his Kryptonian roots and human upbringing. The film releases worldwide on July 11.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan

Based on Ruskin Bond’s short story, this tender romantic tale explores the connection between a blind musician (played by Vikrant Massey) and a theatre artist during a serendipitous train journey. Marking the debut of Shanaya Kapoor, the film delves into modern love and emotional depth. Releases July 11.

Maalik

Rajkummar Rao transforms into a formidable gangster in this action-packed film directed by Pulkit. Based on real social issues and exploring the criminal underworld, the film also stars Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Maalik hits screens on July 11.

Udaipur Files

Inspired by the chilling 2022 murder of Kanhaiya Lal, Udaipur Files examines the crime, its societal aftermath, and rising radicalisation. The film features Vijay Raaz, Rajneesh Duggal and Preeti Jhangiani, and arrives in theatres on July 11.

Doora Theera Yaana

Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story
