New Delhi: 'The Kashmir Files', directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, will have a second premiere on January 19, Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day, following its initial release, which saw record-breaking footfall.
Vivek Agnihotri, who directed the movie, shared the news on social media."The Kashmir Files is re-releasing on 19th January - The Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day. This is the first time ever a film is releasing twice in a year. If you missed watching it on BIG SCREEN, book your tickets NOW," Agnihotri wrote.
On January 20, Cinema Lovers Day, when tickets are discounted to just Rs 99 across theatres, also falls on the same day as the release. ZEE5 already has the movie available for streaming.
Recently, Vivek Agnihotri made the false claim that the movie had been "shortlisted for Oscars 2023." Additionally, he stated that Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, and Anupam Kher were all "shortlisted for best actor categories". But that wasn't the case; The Kashmir Files was just on the reminder list, which is usually composed of movies that are eligible to officially compete in several categories.
However, 'The Kashmir Files' was presented at the IFFI in Goa last year, where Nadav Lapid, the jury chair, denounced it as "propaganda" and "vulgar".
'The Kashmir Files' became the highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2022 after earning over Rs 350 crore globally. Meanwhile, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is preparing for his next project 'The Vaccine War'.
