In his petition filed through advocate DP Singh, the 'Simmba' star said that he has not carried out any 'unauthorized or illegal' construction in his six-storey building in Mumbai.
"The petitioner (Sood) has not made any changes in the building that warrant permission from the BMC. Only those changes that are allowed under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act have been done," DP Singh was quoted as saying by PTI. Mandar Wakankar, BMC's junior engineer from K-West ward, filed a written complaint against the 'R Rajkumar' actor and his wife Sonali for allegedly carrying out unauthorised addition/alteration in their Shakti Sagar building without taking sanction from the concerned authorities, the report in the news agency said. The BMC had alleged that Sood did not take the required permission from the civic body before carrying out the structural changes in his residential building. In a two-page complaint letter, it said that the development work violated the provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act. According to the complaint, the civic body had issued a notice to the B-town star in October 2020 but he didn't respond. Last week, the BMC served Sood another notice after inspecting his premises. "It was found that the accused had not complied with the requisitions and was continuing to carry out unauthorised development even after the notice was served to him," the BMC's complaint read.
