Crowd Chaos At Phoenix Mall Amid Batwara 1947 Event

According to eyewitnesses, excitement among fans was particularly high as Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta were making a much-anticipated return to the screen together. The actors had arrived at Phoenix United Mall to promote their film 'Batwara 1947'.

The situation reportedly became disorderly after the promotional event, when the star cast was leaving the mall. With inadequate arrangements to manage the crowd, pushing and shoving broke out.

Amid the commotion, a youth lost his balance and fell, leaving him seriously injured.

Man Rushed To Hospital

The injured youth was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to ETV Bharat, he suffered serious injuries to his head and body, and his condition remains critical.

The incident has raised concerns over the crowd-management arrangements at the venue as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood stars.

After speculation spread across social media and several media platforms, Rohit Shetty Pictures has now issued an official clarification, calling the reports false. The Golmaal franchise remains one of Bollywood's most successful comedy series, with four hit films already released. The fifth instalment is currently in development, but the makers have urged fans to wait for an official announcement regarding its release.

Makers Dismiss Release Date Speculation

On Thursday, several reports claimed that Golmaal 5, starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Rohit Shetty, would arrive in cinemas in December 2026. However, Rohit Shetty Pictures has denied these claims, stating that no release date has been finalised.

In an official statement, the production house said that the reports circulating about the film's release were "false and untrue". The makers added that the team is focused on developing the film and will share all major updates, including the release date, at the appropriate time.

They also appealed to media organisations and social media users not to circulate misleading information and thanked audiences for their continued support and patience.

Rajamouli Says 80% Of The Film Is Complete

Director SS Rajamouli recently revealed that nearly 80 per cent of Varanasi has already been shot. He said the film, which spans multiple continents and time periods, now has only the remaining portions and smaller scenes left to film.

“The journey of Varanasi goes from Varanasi to Antarctica, then to Africa, then travels back in time to Ancient Rome, and finally returns to Varanasi. We’ve released a teaser, but I didn’t want to reveal too much because it wouldn't do justice to the film. Instead, we wanted to give audiences a glimpse of the experience without revealing the story,” Rajamouli said in a recent interview with European magazine Tsounami.

He added, “We started working on the story in 2022 after RRR was completed. It has been almost four and a half years. We’ve shot about 80 per cent of the film, with the remaining 20 per cent currently in progress. The biggest action sequences are already complete, and what’s left are the smaller scenes and the portions that connect everything.”

Rajamouli also confirmed that filming has resumed in Hyderabad, with the team aiming to wrap production before Dussehra.

The filmmaker further revealed that Varanasi will be the first non-English film to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras, marking another milestone for Indian cinema.

An investigation has been launched after Ranveer Singh’s adult-rated film Dhurandhar was reportedly played for students at a government school in Madhya Pradesh. A video of the same has also been uploaded online and has since raked in views.

Dhurandhar Screened At Govt School In MP

The video circulating on social media appears to show the film being displayed on a digital LED screen at a government higher secondary school, with students from multiple grade levels present in the room. According to a report by TOI, a guest teacher was on hand at the time the video was recorded.

Live Hindustan reported that the film was screened on July 31 for Class 11 and Class 12 students.

Following this, a formal complaint was lodged. The issue reportedly came to light after residents raised the matter through the state’s CM helpline system.

The complaint reportedly criticised the misuse of educational technology, arguing that a resource meant to support learning was instead used to expose children to inappropriate material.

“The digital board was provided to enhance students’ learning. Using it for obscene, noneducational content is a reckless disregard for the children's future,” a part of the complaint, per the outlet, read.

Among overseas territories, China has emerged as the biggest market with $132.9 million (approx. Rs 1,156 crore), followed by the UK with $55.6 million (approx. Rs 484 crore) and Mexico with $43.6 million (approx. Rs 379 crore).
