‘Parinda’ Became a Landmark Crime Drama

Released in 1989, Parinda was directed, produced and co-written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film brought together Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Anupam Kher in a gritty crime story set in Bombay, now Mumbai.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra Took ‘Parinda’ to Hollywood

The story later received an unexpected international extension. Chopra himself directed ‘Broken Horses’, his Hollywood directorial debut, which arrived in 2015.

Salman Khan's much-awaited film Maatrubhumi appears to be moving closer to its theatrical release. After months of speculation around the film's delayed release and certification, a new update suggests that the Apoorva Lakhia directorial is now set to be watched by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) this week.

The development comes amid reports that the makers have been working on the film's final version. While an official release date is yet to be announced, the CBFC screening could provide more clarity on when Salman Khan's film may finally arrive in cinemas.

Maatrubhumi To Be Watched By CBFC This Week

According to the latest reports, Maatrubhumi is expected to be presented before the CBFC this week. Ajay Devgn’s 'Drishyam 3', officially titled 'Drishyam: The Conclusion', has created a storm at the box office. After a massive opening, the film delivered a strong opening weekend and passed the crucial first Monday test. Within just four days of its release, the film has set several new records for Ajay Devgn and the 'Drishyam' franchise.

Ajay Devgn’s Biggest Opening Film

Drishyam 3 opened with an India net collection of Rs 62 crore, making it the biggest opener of Ajay Devgn’s career. The film surpassed the opening record of Singham Again, which had collected around Rs 43.5 crore on its opening day. Ajay Devgn’s other major openers include Singham Returns with Rs 32.1 crore, Golmaal Again with Rs 30.15 crore and Raid 2 with Rs 19.25 crore. The film has also registered the biggest opening in the Hindi Drishyam franchise.

Second-Biggest Bollywood Opener Of 2026

Drishyam 3 has also emerged as the second-biggest Bollywood opener of 2026. The film earned Rs 95.10 crore worldwide on its opening day, including Rs 62 crore net in India. The top spot is held by Dhurandhar 2, which reportedly earned Rs 226.6 crore worldwide on its opening day, including Rs 145.55 crore in India.

Biggest Opening For A Suspense Thriller

The Ajay Devgn starrer also recorded the biggest opening for a suspense-thriller film. With Rs 62 crore on its opening day, Drishyam 3 comfortably surpassed the opening-day collections of Drishyam 2 at Rs 15.38 crore, Raid 2 at Rs 18.25 crore and Drishyam at Rs 5.85 crore.

Second-Biggest Opening Weekend Of 2026

Drishyam 3 has registered the second-biggest opening weekend collection of 2026. The film earned Rs 176.50 crore during its opening weekend. It stands behind Dhurandhar, which reportedly collected Rs 466 crore during its four-day extended opening weekend. The film has also become the biggest opening weekend grosser of Ajay Devgn’s career and the biggest opening weekend film in the Hindi Drishyam franchise.

One Of 2026’s Biggest Films In Just Four Days

After earning Rs 197.50 crore in four days, Drishyam 3 has entered the list of the biggest Hindi films of 2026. The film has surpassed the four-day collections of Dhamaal 4 at Rs 177.92 crore, Awarapan 2 at Rs 156.12 crore, Toxic at Rs 143.92 crore and Welcome To The Jungle at Rs 137.93 crore.

Ajay Devgn’s Biggest First Monday Collection

Drishyam 3 has also given Ajay Devgn his biggest first Monday collection. The film earned Rs 21 crore on its first Monday, surpassing Singham Again, which had collected Rs 18 crore on its first Monday. With this, Drishyam 3 has set a new first-Monday record for the actor. With Rs 197.50 crore in India after four days, the film is now just Rs 2.50 crore away from crossing the Rs 200 crore mark.

Zaheer Iqbal falls hard - and dangerously - for Sonakshi Sinha in their upcoming film Tu Hai Meri Kiran, which is set to release this October. The makers dropped the trailer today, October 6, offering a glimpse into a twisted tale of love, obsession and suspense. As Sonakshi described it, the film explores “one connection, two realities, and one truth”.

‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’ Trailer

The trailer opens with Zaheer’s character professing his love for Kiran. “Kiran, main jaanta hoon ki tum jaisi ladki ke liye mujh jaise ladke ke saath pyaar karna bahut mushkil hai. Duniya ne mujhe yahi bataya ki main loser hoon, lekin phir tum meri life mein aayi. Mere saath hansi, mujhse baat ki… Aisa mere saath kabhi nahi hua hai. I love you, Kiran,” he says as visuals of the star couple’s happy memories play on screen.

However, the mood soon shifts as Sonakshi’s character tells him that he is crossing his limits and asks him to stop calling her. Instead of backing off, Zaheer warns her that this is only the beginning of their story.

As the trailer progresses, a series of unexplained incidents begins to unfold in Sonakshi’s life. She repeatedly asks Zaheer to leave her alone, but he only appears to grow more attached to her. At one point, he tells her that no matter how hard she tries to escape him, she will eventually return to him.

A family member or friend - whose exact relationship with Sonakshi’s character is unclear from the trailer - then warns her that someone is playing with her mind and that she is slowly giving in.

The trailer takes an even darker turn towards the end, with Sonakshi seen on ventilator support as Zaheer’s character says, “Goodbye, Kiran. Khayaal rakhunga hamesha tumhara.”

The trailer blends unrequited desire with suspense, twists and thrills, promising a psychological tale that keeps viewers guessing about what is real and what is not.

Sonakshi, Zaheer On ‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’

Earlier, Sonakshi and Zaheer spoke about the film and what sets it apart, while also opening up about their respective characters.

“Tu Hai Meri Kiran is a very different space for me, and that’s what made it so exciting. What intrigued me most was the unsettling world the film creates, where an emotion can slowly become something far more intense and consuming,” Sonakshi said.

She added, “My character goes through a very unusual journey, and there are so many layers to her that I really enjoyed exploring. The film keeps you on the edge and makes you question the reality unfolding on screen.”

Sharing his experience of working on the project, Zaheer said, “Tu Hai Meri Kiran is a very special film for me. What drew me to the story was the way it explores one-sided love and how an emotion that begins with intensity can take an unexpected turn.”

“There is a strong sense of mystery and suspense throughout the film, which keeps you wondering what lies beneath the surface. I really enjoyed exploring the complexities of my character and discovering the different layers to him,” he added.

Zaheer further said that sharing the screen with his wife, Sonakshi “made the experience even more special”.
