New Delhi: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who was lying low following neuroendocrine tumour diagnosis and treatment, has started shooting for his next film ‘Angrezi Medium’ in Udaipur. The movie is the sequel of ‘Hindi Medium’, which released in 2017. Irrfan, who played the role of Raj Batra in ‘Hindi Medium’, was spotted riding a scooter on the streets of Udaipur. The video of the same is making waves on social media.

In ‘Angrezi Medium’, Irrfan is essaying the role of Champaak, who is runs a mithaai shop in Udaipur.

Dinesh Vijan, who is the producer of the film, had said in a statement that it was an emotional moment for the team when Irrfan joined them for ‘Angrezi Medium’.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared some more details about the film on Twitter. ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actor Deepak Dobriyal will play Irrfan’s brother in the film. Radhika Madan, who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Pataakha’, will play Irrfan’s daughter in ‘Angrezi Medium’.


Irrfan had earlier shared an emotional note thanking his well-wishers for their wishes and prayers they sent while he was fighting the ailment in London.


‘Hindi Medium’, which was one of the top ten grossers of 2017, also featured Pakistani actress Saba Qamar. The film was directed by Saket Chaudhary. ‘Cocktail’ director Homi Adajania will helm ‘Angrezi Medium’.
