Kamya Punjabi Stars In 'Me No Pause Me Play,' A Bold Film That Embraces Life Beyond Change

"Me No Pause Me Play," India's first Hindi film on menopause, releases November 2025. Adapted from a book, it stars Kamya Punjabi and explores the emotional and physical realities of menopause.

In a groundbreaking move for Indian cinema, Digifilming and Mirrro Films proudly present Me No Pause Me Play — India’s first Hindi feature film to put the spotlight on menopause, a subject long shrouded in silence and stigma. Scheduled to release on November 28, 2025, the film marks a bold cinematic step toward normalizing conversations around women’s health, change, and self-discovery.

Featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast led by Kamya Punjabi, alongside Deepshikha Nagpal, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Aman Verma, and Sudha Chandran, the film explores the emotional and physical realities that accompany menopause. But beyond the biological, it’s a story of resilience — of women rediscovering themselves and embracing the next chapter of life with dignity and strength.

Adapted from Manoj Kumar Sharma’s acclaimed book of the same name, Me No Pause Me Play combines social relevance with heartfelt storytelling. Directed by Samar K. Mukherjee, with a screenplay by Shakeel Qureshi and Manoj Kumar Sharma, and cinematography by Akram Khan, the film promises to be as visually evocative as it is emotionally stirring.

Speaking about his vision, director Samar K. Mukherjee shared,“For generations, menopause has been whispered about in secrecy. With this film, we are breaking that silence — it’s not the end of womanhood, it’s the evolution of it.”

Echoing this sentiment, lead actor Kamya Punjabi expressed,“This film gives voice to millions of women who go through menopause in silence. It’s raw, real, and deeply personal — a celebration of change, not fear of it.”

Joining the ensemble are Amiee Misobbah and Aman Verma, who add further depth and diversity to the narrative, portraying the varied emotions and experiences that come with aging, acceptance, and transformation.

By bringing a universal yet often overlooked experience to the forefront, Me No Pause Me Play isn’t just a film — it’s a movement for awareness, empathy, and empowerment. It challenges outdated perceptions and celebrates the beauty of life’s transitions, encouraging audiences to see menopause not as a pause, but as a powerful play — a new act in the theatre of life.
