Ranveer Allahbadia is under fire for his controversial remarks on the latest episode of India’s Got Latent. Despite issuing an apology, social media users have been digging up old videos of him making past contentious statements. Following the backlash, the episode has now been taken down from YouTube.
YouTuber and host of The Ranveer Show, Ranveer has gained popularity for his discussions on spirituality and mental wellness. However, his credibility is now being called into question.
Tanmay Bhat mocks Ranveer Allahbadia
Meanwhile, an old clip of comedian Tanmay Bhat exposing Ranveer Allahbadia's capitalistic mindset has resurfaced. During a live session, Tanmay questioned Ranveer about his plans, to which he responded in his signature style, saying, “I am detached from the outcome, like discontinuing content for a long…”
Tanmay interrupts Ranveer and says, “Dude no one is more view obsessed than you, why do you talk like you don’t care about the outcome?”
He replies, “I am result orientated, but is my soul also result orientated? That is the question.”
Tanmay says, “Yes, clearly!”
Ranveer adds, “Time to shave the head and the eyebrows.”
Tanmay calls him out, saying, “Yeah, I have been hearing that for eight years dude. Why do you keep doing this bullsh*t? Just accept that you are a capitalistic person who wants views. Spiritualism and all is bullsh*t. Every six months you are like (imitating Ranveer) guys I am launching a new business. At the same time there is a reel about spirituality. I am like ki tu kyon jhooth bol raha hai sabko?”
Ranveer Allahbadia controversy
Amid the controversy, B Praak criticised Ranveer Allahbadia, calling out his double standards. The singer cancelled his appearance on his podcast show. "Aur yeh Ranveer Allahbadia, aap Sanatan Dharma ko promote karte ho, spirituality ki baat karte ho. Aapke podcast pe itne bade-bade log aate hain, itne bade sant aate hain, aur fir bhi aapki soch itni ghatiya hai? (You promote Sanatan Dharma and host so many influential people, still your thinking is so shoddy)," B Praak said.
Amid the growing backlash, the controversial clip has been removed from YouTube following a directive from the Centre to the streaming platform. Mumbai Police have received multiple complaints demanding an investigation into Ranveer Allahbadia and others, including Samay Raina, over their controversial remarks.
