Shilpa Shetty’s birthday vacation in Croatia, meant to be a serene family retreat, has reportedly taken an unexpected turn after a video surfaced online showing what appears to be a verbal dispute involving the actress’s entourage and a foreign tourist.
Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra involved in an altercation in Croatia?
The viral clip, shared by an Instagram user who goes by maddythecricketer, claims the incident took place on June 9. According to the post, a young woman asked Shetty’s group to lower their voices while they were dining, as their conversation was apparently too loud for her comfort.
The situation reportedly escalated after the request. The post alleges that businessman Raj Kundra, Shilpa’s husband, took offense and allegedly said, “You don’t know who we are”.
While the video does not directly show Shilpa, Raj Kundra, or other family members, it captures a chaotic scene outside a restaurant. Raised voices can be heard as bystanders begin to gather, suggesting tensions had flared. In the audio, a woman can be heard saying, “Don’t talk to us, we don’t want to hear you,” though it remains unclear whether the voice belongs to Shilpa or her sister Shamita Shetty.
The user also posted a picture of Shilpa Shetty before the incident.
Netizens react to the viral Shilpa Shetty video
The video has quickly gained traction across social media platforms, sparking mixed reactions from viewers. While some came to Shilpa Shetty’s defense, others pointed out issues of public etiquette and cultural differences.
One user expressed strong support for the actress, writing, “Clearly if you’re at a restaurant people are gonna be there laughing, singing, talking. Everyone’s there to have a good time! If you wanna have your food in silence kindly eat at home alone in your room. Shilpa herself owns Bastian hospitality nobody knows better etiquette & mannerisms than her. I’m sure it’s a Karen hating on Indians who had a problem."
Another pointed out what they perceived as a double standard: “Well personally witnessed many American tourists & Chinese talking loudly too in our Europe visits. But somehow Whites will call out loud Brown voices only. Imperialism has not ended tbh. Not saying that gives us license to be loud. But why the difference?"
However, not everyone agreed. A user countered, “It doesn't matter whether you are on foreign soil or Indian ....you have to maintain some decorum...everyone has come to enjoy in that restaurant and is paying the same bill you are and is entitled to the ambience they have paid for."
Casting doubt on the credibility of the video, another comment read, “Yah I'm not believing any of this until you can actually provide proper video with dialogues. I have fallen prey to too many raig bait videos.”
