New Delhi: In a recent interview, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in the Kundan Shah film 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa', recounted how the actor would treat his wife, Gauri Khan, like "rose petals" and how this aided his portrayal of Sunil in the film. At the time, the actor was recently married to Gauri Khan. Shah Rukh was shy with women back then, according to Suchitra.

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Suchitra recalled Shah Rukh's vulnerability on the film sets and how delicately he treated Gauri. She said, "We were witnessing it on the set with Gauri. The way he was with Gauri, he used to be like she is made of rose petals, you know the way he used to treat her. It was just so beautiful.” She also mentioned how director Kundan Shah utilised Shah Rukh's vulnerabilty for Sunil's character.

Suchitra recalled her time on the set and how she used to hang around with Gauri. "Shah Rukh was very reserved. I used to hang out with Gauri. He used to be quite shy and quiet with me, I think he was shy with women," the actress mentioned.

Earlier, during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Suchitra had shared that Shah Rukh used to think of Gauri while doing scenes with her. She said, "When Shah Rukh was doing Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, wo mujhe nahi dekh rahe the, wo Gauri ko dekh rahe the. Isiliye wo expressions sab itna masoom, itna real tha..it was all so real (He wasn’t looking at me, he was looking at Gauri. That’s why his expressions are so innocent, so real).”

On the film's 29th anniversary in February, Shah Rukh Khan shared a post and wrote, "At that stage…in that age…..raw….uncontrolled….craft still undefined….surrounded by the best cast and crew in India and a director who I miss every day! Taught me that sometimes u lose the moment….but win everything else…I am sure somewhere, some world Sunil did too!!"
