The London-bound Dreamliner, carrying 242 people including passengers and crew, crashed into a residential area minutes after departure, leaving the nation in shock.
Sharing his condolences on Instagram Stories, Salman Khan wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the Ahmedabad plane crash…Heartfelt prayers for the families of the passengers, crew and all those affected.”
Salman Khan cancelled his event in the wake of Ahmedabad plane crash
In response to the incident, Salman also cancelled a press conference in Mumbai where he was to be introduced as the face of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL). The actor was expected to attend the event alongside ISRL co-founders Veer Patel and Ishan Lokhande.
As the news of the crash broke during the event, the organisers immediately decided to call it off. A statement issued by the team read: “As we all have just heard the tragic incident that has taken place today. Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr. Salman Khan stand by the Nation United in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families. Jointly, we have made a responsible decision to reschedule this event to a further date.”

Shah Rukh Khan also reacted to the heartbreaking incident, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad… my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected.”
Aamir Khan’s team too shared their condolences in a social media post: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash that occurred today. At this moment of profound loss, our thoughts, and condolences are with the families of those affected.”

The aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner operating as AI171, crashed into a densely populated residential zone mere minutes after departing from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Aboard the flight were 242 individuals—including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese citizens. Air India has confirmed the incident via its official social media handles, with updates still incoming as rescue operations continue.
