Archana Puran Singh Claps Back At Trolls Calling Her House An ‘Old-Age Home’: 'Elders Are Kept Close'

Veteran actor and television personality Archana Puran Singh recently shut down a troll who questioned why her and husband Parmeet Sethi’s parents live with them.

Veteran actor and television personality Archana Puran Singh is known for her infectious laughter and lively presence on-screen, but she doesn’t hold back when it comes to defending her family off-screen either. 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' regular recently shut down a troll who questioned why her and husband Parmeet Sethi’s parents live with them.

The couple, who reside in a picturesque bungalow in Mumbai’s Madh Island along with their sons Ayushmaan and Aaryamann, often share lighthearted family moments on social media. But a recent comment under one of Archana’s videos rubbed her the wrong way.

The user had written, “Just for academic interest, why is your daadu (grandfather) and naani (grandmother) living together? Is it like an old-age home?” Archana didn’t mince her words in her response, sharing a screenshot of the comment on her Instagram Stories. She replied, “Just for your academic knowledge: It’s not an ‘old age’ home. It is an Indian home. Let me further give you the definition of an ‘Indian home’, it is where elders are loved and respected and kept close to the family.”

Archana Puran Singh's witty replies

The actress, known for her candid and no-nonsense attitude, also addressed another jibe that came her way recently. A video she posted documenting her family’s vacation to Switzerland—featuring her husband Parmeet and their two sons—was met with an unkind remark. A social media user commented, “The most idle family. No work only earning unreasonable laughter that lady.” Archana, with her signature wit, hit back saying, “Kismat ho toh aisi (Such should be the luck).”

The video captured the family's holiday kick-off, with touching moments of Archana's parents bidding them goodbye, followed by glimpses from the airport to their arrival in Zurich. In the caption, Archana wrote, "The Switzerland holiday has begun!!! Thank you @flyswiss for a lovely time on board! Can't wait for the adventure to come!"

Among the flood of supportive comments was one that especially touched Archana. It read, “I love d way ur son's still accompany parents..vry nice upbringing just like friends group.” To which she replied warmly, “Yes we love family holidays. Thanks for the sweet comment.”

Archana was last seen playing Mrs. Braganza Malhotra in 'Nadaaniyan' and continues to entertain fans as a regular guest on Netflix’s 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'.
