New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concurrence with BJP veteran L K Advani’s blog on Thursday in which he had said those who disagree with BJP are not anti-nationals.  Welcoming the blog, she said, all Opposition who raise their voices are not anti national.

The TMC supremo said that the comment by the “founding-farther” of BJP leader was “significant”.

“As the senior most politician, former deputy  PM and founding father of BJP, the views Advani Ji has expressed about extending democratic courtesies, is significant,” Banerjee wrote on her Twitter handle.

“Of course, all Opposition who raise their voices are not anti national. We welcome his statement and convey our humble regards,” she added.

Ahead of BJP’s foundation day, Advani on Thursday wrote a blog, wherein he stated, "Right from its inception, BJP has never regarded those who disagree with us politically as our enemies, but only as our adversaries.”

“Similarly, in our conception of Indian nationalism, we have never regarded those who disagree with us politically as anti-national,” he said.

Advani’s write-up comes at a time when opposition leaders are attacking PM Narendra Modi for denying ticket to the BJP patriarch and are calling it an “insult” to replace the 91-year-old in the Gandhinagar seat with Amit Shah.

Advani has been representing Gandhinagar in the Lok Sabha for many terms. BJP national president Amit Shah will contest from Gandhinagar this time. The BJP leadership has also been panned by political rivals for dropping 85-year-old BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi from his Kanpur seat.
