Okhla Assembly 2025: Candidates In The Fray

The Okhla Assembly constituency is witnessing a high-stakes battle with four prominent candidates representing major political parties:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) – Amanatullah Khan

The sitting AAP MLA, Khan has represented Okhla since 2015 and is seeking a third consecutive term. His campaign focuses on welfare schemes, infrastructure improvements, and local community development.

Indian National Congress (INC) – Ariba Khan

A first-time assembly candidate, Ariba is the MLC from Abul Fazal Enclave ward and comes from a politically influential family. She is the daughter of former Okhla MLA Asif Khan and niece of Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) – Shifa Ur Rehman

A controversial entrant, Rehman is contesting on an AIMIM ticket. His undertrial status stems from his 2020 arrest in connection with the Delhi Riots Conspiracy case. His presence has led to speculation about a split in the Muslim vote, potentially impacting AAP and Congress.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – Manish Chaudhry

A former Congress member, Chaudhry is now representing the BJP. With the Hindu-majority areas of Okhla rallying behind the BJP, his prospects are strengthened by a divided opposition.

With a four-way contest shaping up, Okhla is set for a dramatic electoral showdown. Stay tuned for live updates as counting progresses!
