Lancers International School Hosts Korean Festival To Celebrate Cultural Diversity
Lancers International School held a Korean Festival featuring traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, and authentic cuisine.
Gurgaon News: Lancers International School celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Korea by hosting a vibrant Korean Festival on Tuesday. The event featured traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, and authentic Korean cuisine, seeking to provide students and attendees with an immersive experience.
The festival was attended by several dignitaries, including Chon Eui-jin, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, who was the chief guest. She was accompanied by Kim Tae Kyung, Third Secretary at the embassy, and Dr Choongjae Cho, Director of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), New Delhi, who served as the guest of honour.
The programme began with a presentation on Korea’s cultural history and cuisine, followed by a traditional fan dance and musical performances. A taekwondo demonstration by students showcased the martial art's discipline and technique, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
"This festival is an opportunity for everyone to experience the traditions, food, and art that make Korea so unique. It’s been amazing to see our students and community come together to learn and celebrate,” a school representative said.
Food Section A Hit
A major highlight of the festival was the food section, where guests had the chance to sample authentic Korean dishes, including kimchi jjim, kimbap, and dakgalbi. Booths were also set up where students engaged in cultural activities.
“The Korean Festival by Lancers is truly a celebration of diversity, unity, and the power of cultural exchange. I am in awe seeing the tireless efforts made by the Korean parents and these young Lancerians to showcase the richness of their culture,” said chief guest Chon Eui-jin.
"By organizing this unique festivals, Lancers continues to foster an environment where students can explore and celebrate global cultures," Dr Cho added.
Events of the day highlighted the beauty of Korean culture, and gave the visitors a glimpse into its rich history.
