The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC-NET June 2026 results for 84 of the 87 subjects on August 28, 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check and download their scorecards through the official UGC-NET website by logging in with their required credentials. Candidates are advised to save or print the scorecard for future reference.

The agency has clarified that candidates from these three subjects may receive an "Invalid Application Number/Password" message if they attempt to access their June 2026 scorecards before the re-examination.

Their results and scorecards will be made available only after the re-conducted examinations, the NTA said.

“Candidates from English, Commerce and Sociology subjects, whose examinations are scheduled to be re-conducted on 09 and 10 September 2026, may receive an ‘Invalid Application Number/Password’ message in case they attempt to access the UGC-NET June 2026 Scorecard. The scorecard/result for these candidates will be made available ONLY after the re-conduct of their examination,” the statement said.

The UGC-NET June 2026 examination was conducted from June 22 to June 30 across 87 subjects to award Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and facilitate admission to PhD programmes.

The government has invited suggestions from students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders as part of a comprehensive review of the country's public examination system, including examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The High-Powered Task Force (HPTF), constituted by the Government of India and headed by Shri Nandan Nilekani, is examining reforms related to the conduct, security, design and governance of public examinations.

The task force aims to develop a robust, secure, transparent, equitable and future-ready public examination system.

Who Can Submit Suggestions?

The HPTF is seeking inputs from a wide range of stakeholders, including:

Students and candidates
Parents
Teachers and academic institutions
Examination-conducting and test-indenting bodies
Subject matter experts and technology professionals
Industry organisations
Civil society organisations
Other interested stakeholders

The government said the experience, knowledge and perspectives of these stakeholders would be useful to the task force in its exercise.

The task force is also seeking inputs on the prevention, detection and redressal of examination malpractices, as well as the use of technology, including secure Computer-Based Testing.

Other areas include the creation and augmentation of examination infrastructure and developing an inclusive examination framework to improve access across social, economic, regional and linguistic groups.

Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday ordered that the caste column be removed from admission forms in schools from the next academic session.

He issued the direction while chairing the meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Welfare Board (HPSCWB) here.

Sukhu said his government is committed to eliminating caste-based discrimination in society and promoting fraternity and equality and the removal of the caste column would be a step in this direction.

According to a statement, Sukhu, however, insisted that the students of the Scheduled Caste community must continue to give their caste details when availing themselves of government schemes and benefits.

The chief minister said his government has launched several schemes for the welfare of the community, and would further disseminate their benefits so that more people could avail them.

He said that under the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Swarozgar Saur Yojana, the state government has been providing subsidies for setting up projects ranging from 100 KW to 2 MW. A subsidy of 5 per cent was being provided for projects in tribal areas and 4 per cent in other areas.

He said the government has also been providing loans of up to Rs 20 lakh to meritorious students for higher education at a one per cent interest rate.

The government is going to implement the Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana for extremely poor families, providing them 300 units of free electricity, and women from these families a monthly pension of Rs 1,500.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil said his department has allocated nearly Rs 315 crore in the current financial year on schemes for the social and economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, women, children and senior citizens.

A corpus of Rs 1,105 crore, in addition, has been allocated under the Scheduled Caste Development Programme, he said.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to furnish five-year, school-wise data on students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, including details of children whose admissions were denied or not acted upon by schools.

The court also sought details of complaints alleging collection of capitation fees or adoption of screening procedures in violation of the state's education policy, along with action taken on such complaints.

Justice Vinod Diwakar passed the order recently while hearing a writ petition filed by St John's School, Babhanauti, Pachwal.

The court observed that it had been brought to its notice that certain private educational institutions recognised by the state were reluctant to admit children and forgo fees and other charges ordinarily levied by them.

"The correctness of the allegation is a matter upon which no opinion is expressed at this stage and the affidavit called for hereinafter will enable the position to be ascertained," the court said.

The bench directed the state government counsel to file an affidavit by September 15, the next date of hearing.

It also directed schools affiliated to the CBSE, CISCE and other boards to cooperate with the Basic Shiksha Adhikari and District Inspector of Schools concerned in furnishing the required information.

The court clarified that the data was being sought only to obtain a complete picture and that no opinion had been expressed on the conduct of any school.

"Nothing herein shall be acted upon to the prejudice of any institution save after notice and in accordance with law," Justice Diwakar said.

The high court had previously clarified that private schools in Uttar Pradesh affiliated with CBSE or ICSE are not exempt from the RTE Act, 2009, which guarantees free and compulsory education to children aged six to 14 years under Article 21A of the Constitution.

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has expanded its academic offerings with the launch of new online undergraduate programmes in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom). Admissions for both three-year degree courses have now opened, with the first batch scheduled to commence on September 15.

The university unveiled the admission brochures for the two programmes at its Dwarka campus on August 24. The courses will be conducted through the Centre for Distance and Online Education, providing students with an alternative to conventional classroom-based undergraduate programmes.

Raipur: The Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), a state-run agriculture university in Raipur, has approached the police over allegations that another BSc Agriculture examination paper was leaked, officials said.

The latest complaint concerns the APB-5121 (Fundamentals of Genetics) paper, which was conducted on August 19 across 28 agricultural colleges. The university has sought an investigation after an initial internal examination reportedly found indications of tampering in envelopes containing examination papers.

The development comes shortly after two other BSc Agriculture examinations were cancelled following allegations that their question papers had been leaked.

IGKV Seeks Police Investigation Into Latest Paper Leak

The latest alleged leak came to the university's attention after a report appeared in a national Hindi newspaper on Wednesday. According to the complaint, a journalist associated with the publication also sent a PDF containing questions and answers related to the subject to IGKV's Information and Public Relations Officer through WhatsApp.

Following the report, the university formed a five-member committee to look into the allegations and determine whether there was any evidence supporting the reported leak.

The committee examined envelopes containing question papers that had earlier been dispatched to an agricultural college and later returned to the university.

Inquiry Finds Prima Facie Signs of Envelope Tampering

During its preliminary examination, the committee reportedly found signs suggesting that some of the envelopes had been tampered with. The university said the condition of the envelopes, including the one containing the Fundamentals of Genetics paper, appeared similar to those involved in an earlier alleged paper leak case that had already been investigated by police.

The university subsequently forwarded the relevant material to the police for further examination.

Copies of the newspaper report, the PDF carrying the allegedly leaked questions and answers, the original question paper and the internal inquiry committee's report have been submitted to Telibandha police.

Police have confirmed receipt of the complaint.

A police official said, "A complaint has been received, and the matter is being investigated."

Another BSc Agriculture Exam Leak Case Under Probe

The latest development adds to a series of allegations involving IGKV examinations in recent weeks. Earlier, police had taken action in a separate case concerning an alleged leak of an IGKV question paper.

On August 22, police arrested a professor and five students from a private college in Chhattisgarh's Durg district in connection with that case.

The examination involved was an entomology paper for second-year BSc Agriculture students. IGKV cancelled the examination after the alleged leak came to light on the morning of the test on August 20.

The arrests have added to concerns surrounding the security of university examination papers and the conduct of examinations at affiliated agricultural colleges.

IGKV Cancels Plant Pathology Exam After Police Investigation

Another examination was also cancelled by the university earlier this week.

On August 24, IGKV cancelled the BSc Agriculture first-year Plant Pathology examination, which had been conducted on August 7. The decision followed a police investigation into a separate case, which confirmed that the question paper had been leaked.

With the latest Fundamentals of Genetics case now being examined by Telibandha police, the university has handed over documentary and examination-related evidence to investigators.

The police probe will determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged leak and whether the suspected tampering of the examination-paper envelopes is connected to the circulation of the questions and answers.
