DU Admissions 2019: The Delhi University is expected to release the schedule for merit based admissions and entrance exams as well as Cut-Off lists soon on its official website – du.ac.in. With CBSE Class 12th Results 2019 released on Thursday, the season of college search has sprung. Housing the country’s most coveted colleges and institutions, the Delhi University too is expected to commence its admissions process early this year.


Approximately 56000 seats for Undergraduate courses in around 79 colleges of the University of Delhi were reported last year. With the government’s stand for 10% EWS quota in educational institutions, this number is bound to go up in 2019. Delhi University will be increasing 10% seats this year, and 15% seat in 2020.

The admissions in Delhi University are entrance-based, merit-based, NCWEB and quota-based.

In 2018, the DU Admissions began on 15th May 2018. For UG aka Undergraduate Admissions (merit based) the varsity had declared as many as ten cut offs in the past year. The first cut off list was out on 19th June 2018. Here’s a look at the cut-off for DU Undergraduate Admissions (merit based) 2018, based on which aspirants can gauge their prospects in the top colleges of University of Delhi.

The highest cut-off for UG courses was set by the coveted Lady Shri Ram College for Women aka LSR with 98.75% cut-off for BA programme for General category candidates and 98.25% for BA (Hons) Psychology. For BA (Hons) Journalism, BA (Hons) Political Science, and BA (Hons) Economics the cut-off was set at 97.75% and 97.25% for B.Com (Hons).

Shri Ram College for Commerce too was close at 98.50% cut-off for BA (Hons) Economics and 97.75% for B.Com (Hons).

Delhi College of Arts and Commerce followed suit with a cut-off for BA (Hons) Journalism degree course at 98.50%. The cut-off for B.Com and B.Com (Hons) was set at 96.50% and 97.25% respectively.

Hans Raj College had the cut-off for BA (Hons) Economics at 98%, along with the prestigious Hindu College. For BA (Hons) English these colleges had set 97.25% and 98% cut-off respectively, and 97.50% for B.Com (Hons).

Shivaji College had the highest cut-off for B.Com (Hons) with 98%. The cut-off set for B.Com was 96% and 97% for BA (Hons) Economics.

Indraprastha College for Women had 97.5% cut-off for BA (Hons) Psychology and 97% for BA (Hons) Economics and B.Com (Hons) in the DU First Cut-Off list.

Kamala Nehru College (Women) had set 97.75% cut-off for BA (Hons) Journalism, 96.50% for BA (Hons) English, 96.50% for BA (Hons) Psychology and 96.25% for BA (Hons) Economics.

The popular Miranda House (Women) had 97.75% cut-off for BA (Hons) Economics, 97.50% for BA (Hons) English and 97% for BA (Hons) Geography and BA (Hons) Political Science.

For Kirori Mal College the highest cut-off was at 97.75% for BA (Hons) Economics, followed by 97.50% for B.Com (Hons), 97.00% for BA (Hons) English and 96.50% for B.Com. Sri Venketeswara College too had cut-off of 97.75% for BA (Hons) Economics and 97.50% for B.Com (Hons).

Ramjas College had highest cut-off for BA (Hons) Economics at 97.50%, and 97% for BA (Hons) History and B.Com (Hons). Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College had set 97% cut-off for BA (Hons) Economics and B.Com (Hons).

Sikh Minority colleges of the University of Delhi, viz Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce had 97% cut-off for B.Com (Hons) and 95.50% for B.Com; while the highest cut-off at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College was for BA (Hons) Economics and BA (Hons) Political Science at 97.25% for general category candidates.
