According to PTI, the case pertains to a sexual harassment charge filed by a woman at Zirakpur police station, who alleged that Singh established non-consensual relations with her under the pretext of taking her abroad. The complainant had alleged that in 2018 Bajinder had raped her and made a video of it.
An FIR was registered at Zirakpur police station on April 20, 2018, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (previously Indian Penal Code) and the Information Technology (IT) Act. Besides Singh, five others—Pastor Jatinder, Pastor Akbar, Sattar Ali, and Sandeep Pehelwan—were also booked in the case.
Pastor Bajinder Singh Booked In Another Sexual Harassment Case
As per NDTV, the 42-year-old pastor was apprehended at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while attempting to travel to London. He was also booked in a separate case on February 28 for alleged sexual harassment, following a complaint by a 22-year-old woman.
The complainant alleged that she and her parents began visiting Singh’s church in October 2017, after which he took her mobile number and started sending her text messages. She did not disclose this to her parents, fearing Singh.
From 2022 onwards, the pastor allegedly made her sit alone in a cabin in the church on Sundays, where he would hug her and touch her inappropriately. The survivor also alleged that Singh had threatened to have her and her family members eliminated if she filed a complaint.
Additionally, Singh faced accusations in 2022 of taking money from a Delhi-based family under the pretext of treating their ailing daughter, who later passed away. In 2023, the income-tax department raided his premises, NDTV reported.
Complaint Against Pastor Bajinder Singh Over Physical Assault Of Woman, Others
Recently, a complaint was filed against the pastor by a woman named Ranjeet Kaur alleging assault on her. The incident reportedly took place after a prayer session, where Kaur alleged that she, along with others, was physically assaulted.
Speaking on the matter, DSP Mohit Kumar Aggarwal stated, "The complainant Ranjeet Kaur and three to four other people have told us that after the prayers, they were treated rudely and were assaulted. She has filed a complaint and her statement has been recorded. Action will be taken accordingly..."
Kaur told ANI that she was attacked when she tried to intervene in an assault on another individual present at the gathering.
"When I stopped him (Pastor Bajinder Singh) from hitting a person present there, he hit me with a notebook. At the time, my 1.5-year-old daughter was with me. He also badly hit the boy present there. The government should probe if the footage was real or AI-generated. After this, I resigned from the Church. He also threatened me. I had gone there out of devotion..." she stated.
A video of this incident also surfaced on social media.
