On Cam: Mumbai Girl Falls To Death From 12th Floor After Mother Seats Her On Shoe Rack Near Window Ledge

The girl tragically died after falling from a 12th-floor in Mumbai. Her mother placed her on a shoe rack near an open window while preparing to leave for an outing. A case has been filed.

A four-year-old girl died after accidentally falling to death from the 12th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Naigaon area. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and has surfaced on social media.

The girl, identified as Anvika Prajapati, was made to sit on a shoe rack by her mother, who was getting ready to go out. However, she climbed onto the windowsill when her mother was looking elsewhere and fell from the building.

According to CCTV footage and initial police reports, the incident occurred at around 8:00 PM on Wednesday (July 22) when the mother-daughter duo were getting ready to go for an evening outing.

The video shows the girl coming out of the house, followed by her mother. Anvika can then be seen slipping into somebody's footwear as her mother locks the door. When the woman sees her daughter walking around she lifts her up and seats her on the top of a shoes cupboard rack near the window, not realising that it was open.

Within moments, while the mother was occupied picking up Anvika's sandals, she climbs onto the adjacent windowsill and sits on it. She then loses her balance and falls before her mother could react.

Shocked, the mother then looks down the window and begins crying for help. The residents of the building come out quickly after hearing the mother's cries for help. She then rushes down to her child.

Anvika was rushed to Sir DM Petit Hospital in Vasai West, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Authorities have registered a case and launched an inquiry to establish the exact sequence of events and evaluate any potential negligence contributing to the fatal fall.
