Former MLA Dies In Car Accident In Maharashtra
Former MLA RT Deshmukh died in a car accident on the Latur-Tuljapur Road. The accident occurred near Belkund, Maharashtra.

Former Maharashtra MLA and BJP leader RT Deshmukh lost his life after he met with a car accident on the Latur-Tuljapur Road near Belkund in the Latur district of Maharashtra on Monday.
According to a report by the news agency PTI, after the accident, the MLA was immediately rushed to Sahyadri Hospital in Latur, but doctors pronounced him dead.

A police official said the accident occurred at around 4.15 pm on a flyover near Belkund village in the central Maharashtra district while Deshmukh was travelling on the Tuljapur-Latur road in an SUV.
"While the car was on the initial stretch of the flyover, it jumped over the crash barrier and rolled down twice. Four policemen from a nearby outpost quickly came and pulled out the car driver and Deshmukh from the badly damaged car with the help of local residents," the official said, news agency PTI reported.
Following the incident, the State Minister for Environment and Animal Husbandry, Pankaja Munde, who was attending a program in Nanded with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, immediately cancelled all her events and left for Latur from Nanded.
She spoke with Deshmukh’s family and offered them words of consolation. She also contacted Dr. Kinikar of Sahyadri Hospital to get updates on the situation. MP Bajrang Sonawane also paid tribute to him through a Facebook post.
RT Deshmukh had been elected as an MLA from the Majalgaon constituency on a BJP ticket in the 2014 assembly elections. He was known in the Beed district as a staunch supporter of the late leader Gopinath Munde.
