UP News: The political uproar following Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman's statement on Rana Sanga shows no signs of abatement. On Wednesday, Karni Sena activists who proceeded towards the MP's house to stage a protest clashed with the police when they were stopped on the way.
Six police officers were injured in the clash with the protestors outside Ramji Lal Suman's residence. When the Karni Sena activists marching towards the MP's home closed in, the police closed the gate to the SP MP's house.
A police sub-inspector advised the MP's supporters gathered at his residence and Ramji Lal Suman's son to stay behind the closed gate as the crowd kept growing. The police also put up barricades, which the protesters broke through.
However, with the crowd growing, the police tried to disperse the protesters. However, this resulted in the clash.
Why Are Karni Sena Activists Protesting?
The SP MP had referred to Rana Sanga as a "gaddar", or "traitor", in his Rajya Sabha statement. This sparked the controversy and put the SP MP at the centre of a storm. The activists also broke through the barricades, leading to clashes with the police. The activists present at the spot also loudly protested against the MP.
