UP: 3 Family Members Among 4 Burned To Death As Fire Breaks Out In Ghaziabad House

Officials noted that sewing machines and clothes stored on the first and second floors likely contributed to the intensity of the fire.

Four people, including three family members, were burned to death while sleeping after a fire caused by a short circuit that engulfed a house in Kanchan Park under Loni police station jurisdiction on Sunday, officials said.

As per the report by the news agency PTI, the fire broke out in a multi-storey building, and the Loni fire station received the distress call at 7:06 am. Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene.

As soon as firefighters arrived at the spot, they discovered that the blaze had spread to the second and third floors, trapping people inside. Due to the narrow lanes, fire engines had to be parked outside, and hoses were extended through neighbouring houses to reach the fire. The congested staircase and heavy smoke complicated the rescue efforts, leading firefighters to break down walls to access the building.

Four individuals were found on the terrace. Among them, Ayesha and her four-year-old son Ayan sustained injuries, while two others, Shahnawaz and Shamshad, were safely rescued. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters recovered four bodies inside the house. Chief Fire Officer Rahul confirmed the casualties.

The victims included the wife of Shahnawaz, identified as Gulbahar, their two minor sons, and the son of a relative residing in the same house. Officials noted that sewing machines and clothes stored on the first and second floors likely contributed to the intensity of the fire.
