Faridabad Stalker, Arrested For Kidnapping Girl, Stabs Her To Death After Getting Bail

Police confirmed that the accused was previously arrested on April 20, 2024, for allegedly kidnapping the teenager with the intent to marry her.

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed to death by a 19-year-old stalker at her house in Dabua Colony who was earlier arrested for reportedly kidnapping her, in Faridabad, Haryana on Saturday. The accused is currently at large.

The identified accused, Pawan, who was previously arrested for allegedly kidnapping the girl, barged into the house in Dabua Colony and attacked her with a knife after an argument. He fled the scene immediately after the assault, police stated, as reported by TOI.

"The girl went to her domestic help's house in the neighbourhood when the latter was not at home. Neighbours saw Pawan leaving the house with blood-stained clothes and went inside to check what happened. They found the girl with bleeding injuries. She was rushed to Civil Hospital where she was declared dead," inspector Manjeet Kumar from Dabua police station said. He also added that the girl was a school dropout who used to stay with her mother who is also a cloth trader.

Case Against Accuse Is Still On Trial

According to the police, Pawan was arrested on April 20, 2024, for allegedly kidnapping the teenager with the intent to marry her. In her statement, the girl's mother claimed that on April 17, 2024, Pawan lured her daughter away under the guise of marriage, with assistance from his friend Shoaib. 

Pawan was the only person arrested in the case and was charged under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (procuration of a minor girl), and 34 (common intention).

The accused was released from jail on bail in Sept 2024. The case is currently going through trial. "The girl's mother alleged that Pawan killed her daughter with a knife. She also stated that the accused, his younger brother, their parents, friend and his mother threatened her family to withdraw the kidnapping complaint," Faridabad police spokesperson Yashpal said.

After her complaint, police registered a case on Saturday night under BNS sections 103 (1) (murder), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation), and 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy) against Pawan, his younger brother, parents, a friend, and the friend's mother.  Although the teenager's mother accused Pawan and his family of intimidation after the murder, police noted that no prior reports of such threats had been filed.

"The family of the accused runs a scrap business. They claimed he was a student. We have to verify it once he is arrested. We will also get to know why the girl went to her domestic help's house when the latter was not at home and how the accused reached there at the same time only after the arrest," the inspector stated. The police spokesperson further added that the crime branch and police teams have initiated a manhunt to arrest Pawan.
