Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Visit Shelter Home To Celebrate Holi, Urges People Not To Waste Water

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that since these children do not have parents, the government as their guardian will ensure that they receive proper care and facilities.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday visited the Asha Kiran shelter home in Rohini to celebrate Holi with the children.

Rekha Gupta said that since these children do not have parents, the government as their guardian will ensure that they receive proper care and facilities.

The Chief Minister also extended her wishes on the occasion, saying "I extend greetings to the people of Delhi on Holi. I hope it is a safe Holi and please ensure that there is no wastage of water. I felt very good on my visit to Asha Kiran."

CM Gupta, who was accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Singh Indraj, distributed sweets and chocolates to the children.

"I have instructed officials to address any shortcomings and improve facilities in the shelter home," she said. Highlighting the issue of overcrowding, the CM said that the home currently accommodates more children than its intended capacity.

She said that the department would be directed to make necessary arrangements to handle the excess occupancy.

Additionally, she mentioned that she has asked the minister to upgrade the park within the shelter home with better equipment.

"I will personally oversee this centre to ensure the children receive proper care," she said, adding that she plans to visit the facility more frequently to monitor the conditions.

The Delhi CM, in a separate post on X, extended her greetings to the people on Holi urging people to burn negativity, ego and animosity and move forward in life with love, goodwill and new enthusiasm.

"Warm wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Holika Dahan! This festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and inspires all of us to follow the path of truth, religion and moral values. Let us, on this occasion, burn negativity, ego and animosity and move forward in life with love, goodwill and new enthusiasm. May Lord Narasimha shower his blessings on everyone," she said in the X post.
