A woman had a miraculous escape on Saturday morning after a truck ran over her scooter at a busy junction in Bengaluru, stopping just moments before its rear wheels could crush her. The harrowing incident, captured on CCTV, unfolded at Srinivaspura Cross around 8:30 a.m.
The footage reveals the woman waiting to take a left turn when a lorry, positioned to her right, attempted the same manoeuvre. As traffic momentarily came to a halt due to a bus ahead, she inched forward on her scooter, briefly stopping near the truck's rear wheels.
Moments later, as the bus pulled away, the truck began moving forward. The front wheels struck the scooter, sending the woman sprawling to the ground. Within seconds, the heavy rear wheels crushed her two-wheeler and rolled dangerously close to her legs.
In a split-second decision that likely saved her life, the truck driver appeared to realise something was wrong and reversed, narrowly avoiding a fatal accident. The woman was quickly helped to the roadside by bystanders who had witnessed the shocking scene.
According to officials, the woman sustained only minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Authorities have seized the lorry and registered a case against the driver.
