Air India Express Pilot Dies Of Cardiac Arrest After Landing At Delhi Airport: Report

An Air India Express pilot died after suffering a cardiac arrest at Delhi airport, shortly after safely operating a Srinagar-Delhi flight on Wednesday evening.
The airline confirmed that the pilot was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the pilot was 28-year-old and had recently got married.
The pilot, Armaan, vomited inside the aircraft after landing in Delhi in a flight from Srinagar, The Hindu reported citing multiple sources among the airline employees.
The pilot suffered a cardiac arrest at the airline's despatch office at the IGI airport, following which he was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

“We deeply regret the loss of a valued colleague due to a medical condition. Our thoughts are with the family during this time of profound grief. We are extending all possible assistance to them as we all cope with this tremendous loss," said an Air India Express Spokesperson.
"We request all concerned to respect privacy at this time and avoid unnecessary speculation while we commit to assisting the relevant authorities in due process,” it added.
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had proposed a phased roadmap in February to introduce stricter limits on when and how long pilots can fly to minimise fatigue among air crew in a submission to Delhi high court. An HT report said that the roadmap proposed increasing the weekly rest of pilots from 36 to 48 hours starting July 1, 2025, and bringing in reduced night flying from November 1, 2025.
In another incident involving Air India, a passenger allegedly urinated on a fellow passenger during a flight from the national capital to Bangkok on Wednesday (April 9), PTI reported.
As an interim measure, the airline has put the male passenger who allegedly urinated on the fellow passenger in the no-fly list for one month.
