24K & 22K Gold Price Today: Gold prices slipped on Thursday after two consecutive sessions of gains, while silver witnessed a steep correction, tumbling more than 8 per cent in intraday trade.
Earlier in the session, both metals had rallied nearly 6 per cent in early morning trade but were unable to hold on to those advances, triggering significant profit booking as the day progressed.
Market participants said the initial weakness seen at the start of the week stabilised after investors largely factored in the nomination of Kevin Warsh as the new Federal Reserve Chairman. However, volatility remains elevated.
Despite ongoing diplomatic engagement between the US and Iran, safe-haven demand has not completely faded, particularly after US forces shot down an Iranian drone. Talks between Iran and the United States are scheduled for Friday, keeping geopolitical tensions in focus.
Wednesday’s rally had drawn additional support from a partial US government shutdown and profit-taking in the dollar index from elevated levels.
Traders noted that Gold Rates in India soared, with Gold prices in Delhi and other key metros reflecting the latest surge.
