24K & 22K Gold Price Today: Gold prices slipped on Tuesday in the national capital, even as silver extended losses after the recent rally, amid cautious global sentiment.
Silver started the week on a weaker footing as traders locked in profits following the recent surge. However, ongoing central bank buying, safe-haven interest amid correction in tech and AI stocks, and a softer dollar index have limited deeper losses, said Gaurvav Garg, Research Analyst at Lemonn Markets Desk.
Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst, Commodities at HDFC Securities, said gold edged lower as a modest recovery in the US dollar and lack of fresh buying weighed on prices. Trading volumes remained thin with Chinese markets shut for Lunar New Year, reducing participation.
Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, said traders are watching key data including the US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index due on February 20, along with FOMC minutes, US advance GDP data and flash PMI readings for further cues on rate-cut expectations.
Traders noted that Gold Rates in India slipped, with Gold prices in Delhi and other key metros reflecting the latest decline.
