24K & 22K Gold Price Today: Gold prices slipped on Tuesday, while silver recorded sharper losses in futures trade as investors booked profits amid subdued global cues and a firmer US dollar.
Traders said gains in the US dollar weighed on bullion sentiment. The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against six major currencies, edged up 0.09 per cent to 96.90, limiting upside in precious metals globally.
Comex gold futures for April delivery also eased $24.19, or 0.48 per cent, to $5,055.21 per ounce, compared with $5,079.4 per ounce earlier.
Kotak Securities said gold retreated after two sessions of gains as traders locked in profits in a market still stabilising following the historic decline. The brokerage added that attention has now shifted to retail sales data, while macro uncertainty and easing expectations continue to offer underlying support despite near-term volatility.
Traders noted that Gold Rates in India slipped, with Gold prices in Delhi and other key metros reflecting the latest decline.
