Bank Holidays Next Week: Banks To Remain Closed For Up To 5 Days, Check RBI Calendar HERE

While regular weekly offs continue on Sundays and designated Saturdays, additional closures are scheduled in states like Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, and Tripura for region-specific cultural observances.

Banking operations across various states in India will see multiple regional holidays during the week of July 13 to July 20, 2025, due to local festivals and commemorations.

While regular weekly offs continue on Sundays and designated Saturdays, additional closures are scheduled in states like Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, and Tripura for region-specific cultural observances.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar, banks will be closed in Shillong, Dehradun and Agartala on specific days owing to events such as Beh Deinkhlam, Harela, the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh, and Ker Puja. These holidays apply to both public and private sector banks, including the State Bank of India (SBI).

Bank Holidays Between July 14-20

On Monday, July 14, banking services in Shillong will be suspended for Beh Deinkhlam, a festival observed by the Jaintia tribe in Meghalaya.

On Wednesday, July 16, banks in Dehradun will remain closed in celebration of Harela, a significant festival for communities in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region and certain parts of Himachal Pradesh.

Thursday, July 17 marks the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh, a Khasi chief and freedom fighter. Banks in Shillong will observe a holiday on this occasion.

Closures continue on Saturday, July 19, when banks in Agartala will not operate in observance of Ker Puja, a traditional festival in Tripura that honours the guardian deity Ker. Sunday, July 20, will again be a nationwide bank holiday as part of the regular weekly closure.

Remaining Holidays In July

July 2025 features a total of seven scheduled regional bank holidays, in addition to the regular weekly breaks. Prior closures this month included Kharchi Puja in Agartala on July 3 and Guru Hargobind’s Birthday in Jammu and Srinagar on July 5. National bank closures were also observed on July 6 and July 12.

Looking ahead, banks will remain closed on July 26, the fourth Saturday of the month, and July 27, a Sunday. July 28 will see a holiday in Gangtok on account of Drukpa Tshe-zi, a Buddhist festival marking Lord Buddha’s first sermon.

The RBI’s banking holiday calendar, jointly framed with state governments, takes into account religious and cultural events, ensuring minimal disruption to essential banking services while recognising the country’s diverse traditions. Customers are advised to check local schedules and plan transactions accordingly.
