Bank Holidays Next Week: Banks To Remain Closed For Up To 3 Days, Check State-Wise Calendar

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in coordination with state governments, determines these holidays based on national events, religious festivals, regional customs, and administrative considerations.

As the month draws to a close, banks across India are scheduled for several holidays in the last week of June between June 23 to 29. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in coordination with state governments, determines these holidays based on national events, religious festivals, regional customs, and administrative considerations. The official list is announced through the central bank's website and via formal notifications to financial institutions.

The upcoming week has 3 holidays lined up for banks, including regional holidays and weekend leaves. June 27 marks the day of Ratha Yatra/Kang (Rathajatra) in Odisha and banks across the state will remain closed to celebrate the festival.

Meanwhile, June 28 marks the fourth Saturday of the month, indicating a holiday for all banks across the country. Coupled with the holiday a day earlier, this weekend will mark a long break from banking facilities in Odisha. Therefore, customers are advised to plan their errands and appointments accordingly.

Upcoming Bank Holidays In June

Here's a list of the remaining bank holidays in June.

June 27 (Friday): Ratha Yatra / Kang (Rathajatra) — Banks closed in Odisha and Manipur.
June 28 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday — Banks closed across India.
June 29 (Sunday): Weekly Off — Nationwide bank closure.
June 30 (Monday): Remna Ni — Banks closed in Mizoram.

Services Available During Bank Holidays

Despite physical branches remaining closed on these dates, most banking services continue uninterrupted through digital channels. Customers can still access online banking platforms, mobile apps, UPI services, and ATMs for cash withdrawals. However, transactions involving cheques, demand drafts, or other instruments covered under the Negotiable Instruments Act remain suspended on these official holidays.

The RBI declares the annual holiday calendar under the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, ensuring that cheque clearances and similar services are paused during these listed dates. It's important for customers to verify local bank schedules, as holiday dates may vary across different states due to regional observances. Being aware of these variations allows individuals and businesses to plan financial activities or address emergencies effectively during extended holiday periods.
